Residency Programme 2026
exe is a cultural space located in Berlin-Neukölln, bringing together a showroom, studios, and event platform. Rooted in independent publishing, music, fashion and contemporary art practices, exe functions as both a physical space and an evolving community, hosting pop-ups, exhibitions, and collaborative projects. The residency program is an extension of this environment: a way to create space for artists to work, experiment, and present within an active and interdisciplinary context.
The summer residency is a 3- and 6-week studio-based program designed to support independent artistic work. Rather than a highly structured or institutional residency, exe offers a flexible and self-directed framework, where residents are given time, space, and context to develop their practice. The residency culminates in a public presentation or exhibition, shaped together with the artist.
What is provided
- Private studio within the exe space
- 3 or 6 weeks of continuous use of the studio
- Opportunity to realise a final presentation / exhibition / event
- Inclusion in the exe program and visibility through our network
- Informal support and dialogue throughout the residency
- Access to our tool library / workshop
With private access through our courtyard, the workspace is a 30m² studio in a historical Berlin cellar with high vaulted ceilings. This setting offers artists the opportunity to work in a focused, autonomous setting while remaining in dialogue with the wider exe program and other studios.
Please note: This residency does not include accommodation.
